Entry requirements

A 2:2 undergraduate degree in any subject discipline, or equivalent professional experience and qualification. International students will be expected to meet the English language requirements of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Non-standard applications are welcome and careful consideration will be given to the applicant's career history, experience and other learning.

Course Summary

This programme offers graduates from any subject discipline the chance to acquire skills and expertise in business. It provides opportunities to explore the business environment and its current and future challenges. Learners will be guided through specialist areas of business including marketing, people and team management, finance and strategy, before embarking on a major project which allows them to explore a business area of their interest in a practical, theoretical or combined approach.

1st Year

The Business Environment
Explore how business considers people, planet and profit making through a review of organisations of different sizes and structures. Consider business ethics, sustainability, and value adoption.
Marketing
Create and apply innovative marketing approaches to engage and attract customers and stakeholders.
Sustainable Finance and Strategy
Explore conventional and innovative commercial business strategies and practice. Understand the drivers for sustainable value in revenue, profitability and market share.
Practical and Contemporary Research for Business
Investigate a range of academic and practical business research methods that can offer solutions or innovate for business success. Apply this knowledge in a real-world business consultation.
People, Culture and Entrepreneurship
What does it mean to be an individual or part of a group within an organisation? Explore the complexities of the world of work and entrepreneurship and reflect on personal experiences and aspirations for graduate success.
Major Project
Undertake an individual business project in a selected area. Plan, design and enact on the project though a dissertation, practical management project, or business proposal or development plan. Articulate the findings though a written report.

How you鈥檒l be taught and assessed?

How will you be taught?

Teaching is delivered using a combination of located on campus sessions and connected online learning. Teaching will be blocked over two days a week (for full time students).

How will you be assessed?

No exams. You’ll be assessed using coursework activities such as essays, reports and presentations, as well as projects and creative tasks.

Laura is the MarjonBusiness centre lead and has responsibility for the business postgraduate programmes at 美姬阁. Her research focusses on the drivers and barriers in small business and entrepreneurship, and she continues to explore what shapes success for small business owners and entrepreneurs through her work.

Susan studied Graphic Design at Arts University Plymouth and worked in London and Yorkshire as a designer before discovering a passion for Marketing. Following a number of Marketing roles predominantly in the Tourism & Leisure sector and the completion of a CIM Diploma at 美姬阁, Susan was head-hunted by Weststar Holidays and worked on the Board as Marketing Director alongside Deborah Meaden.

Susan is still providing Marketing and Business Consultancy and is currently working on the feasibility for a new visitor experience in Wales, a Community Farm, for the Invisible Circus and Wildworks Theatre.
