FameLab UK South West
2025 Applications are now open.
Do you have a talent for talking about science in a way that makes it accessible and exciting for everyone?
Famelab is an exciting competition which is intended to give the next generation of science-related researchers the opportunity to communicate their work with the public in an entertaining and engaging way, and we've been selected as the location for their South West hub!
As a contestant you'll have just three minutes to communicate your research to an expert panel of judges, all while being watched by a global audience. Your presentation also has to demonstrate the “Three Cs” of FameLab: Content, Clarity and Charisma.
There's a £250 prize for the winner of the South West heat, but you need to be in it to win it!

Why take part in Famelab?
- Contestants receive professional training on communication and presentation
- Regional winners compete in the final the Cheltenham Festival
- The national winner will then compete in the Famelab International Final
